Is there a way to ignore the extention of files when I rename them? It's a little annoying everytime I have to be careful not touching the extention.
In HISTORY.TXT it says "Added: Changed behaviour of multiple dots in Shift+F6 (rename): the last dot matches the last dot of the source file", what does it mean?

You can use the multi-rename tool for this (New: Ctrl+M). The note in history.txt only affects renaming with * in the new name.

Simply rename the file to new_name.* and * gets replaced by the original extension. Is there a way to ignore the extention of files when I rename them? It's a little annoying everytime I have to be careful not touching the extention.
