ftplist.txt location

Post by *CyberDragon »

Hi!

Suggestion:
Maybe ftplist.txt could be located in the Application Data folder like wcx_ftp.ini (if the user selected installation of ini files to there during setup), instead being created in the programs folder by default.

This would be beneficial since:
- This is user data and this is what the Application Data folder is for
- Ensuring other users on the computer can't see what I downloaded

Do you mean setting %APPDATA% as default for "FTP Download from list" dialog?

If yes - I am against. I would rather see new command with parameters like:

Code: Select all

FTPLOADFROMLIST xxx
where "xxx" is list file.

that way you could define anything and assign it to custom shortcut or button.

Well I'm not against making it user definable through commands, just changing the default location given by the GUI for a more consistent config file behavior and added privacy by default would be nice. :)

It would be totally against current solution which is to use current directory. It could confuse other users (like me) to much IMHO.
