[REQ] Lister: use whole window width for text wrapping

Post by *m^2 »

Currently lister wraps lines of text at 75 characters. With default font, it makes for just 1/3 of my screen size. How about increasing it?

ADDED: I've been pointed that number of characters can be changed in options. :oops:

It helps, but not much. I sometimes work in a windowed mode. And on 2 machines with different resolutions. I would really like to have it change automatically.

Support++

"Wrap to window width" option or saving TextWidth value according to resolution (i.e. TextWidth_1280x1024) could be nice.

I support this request as a built-in function in lister too.

An exotic solution could be a tri-state of line wrap pressing the W key:
  1. No wrap
  2. Wrap text (as defined in options)
  3. Wrap text to width of lister area.
Or perhaps better add a new short-cut for switch among wrap line (to width of lister window) and no wrap. (SHIFT+W)

Meantime... Did you try with the lister plugin that you and I use?
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)

SciLister? Though it's the fastest highlighting plugin, it's not fast enough. For this reason, I view texts with cm_ListInternalOnly unless I have a lot of code to browse.
And SciLister doesn't scroll page down on spacebar. :(

The triple action sounds nice...but I'd rather have wrapping text into multiple columns for easier reading. Could be under W. ;)
