missing folders on usb pen drive

Hello,
I have a new 8gb u3 usb pen drive, from which I removed the U3 software.
When I open it in TC, the two folder that are on the root are not shown. I can see them when I open it in windows explorer.
Any suggestion?

Thank you very much Holger. Following your advice, the two folders actually showed up. However they are not (should not be) hidden folders (they are just: documents and applications). What happens now is that a true hidden folder is shown (system).
If possible I would prefer not to see hidden folders. Any other ideas?
But at least this way I can use TC with the drive.

Select the folders, then from the main menu select Files >> Change Attributes... and in the dialog clear the box labeled Hidden then click OK.

Are these folders customized folders (special icon via desktop.ini)?

A common mistake by some applications is to set the system attribute for the reason to mark a folder a system folder.
This works but it is not necessary, because setting the Read only flag is the preferred way to do this.
To keep the customized icon of such a folder just change the folder attribute (non recursive!) from "System" to "Read only".

If possible I would prefer not to see hidden folders. Any other ideas?

Sorry, TC has no separate setting for system and hidden files.

But you can use the ignore list feature:
Configuration -> options..- >Ignore list

Just add some names like

\$Recycle.Bin\
\Recycler\
\System Volume Information\
\pagefile.sys
\hiberfil.sys

to the list.

- starting backslash means: placed in the root folder of each drive
- ending backslash means: folder name, not file name
- or use file masks like : _vti_*\

A little bit more of work than switching a global system, hidden visible flag on/off, but it's worth.

Thank you a lot guys. @Holger: you hit the point. These folder are marked with the system attribute, very likely because they were customized the way you described. I went after the indications of Giovanni and removed this attribute from the two folder (recursively). Then I changed the display option not to to show the hidden folders. It seems everything works fine.

How to examine the quality of pen drive? Can anybody suggest me how to consider a good quality pen drive, how to examine pen drives while buying, because there are so many online sellers and offline sellers also.
