Extended Menus for TC 7.57a ver. 3

Post by *petermad »

New versions of my extended Menus for TC 7.57a are now available: If you use Windows 7 you should look here for special versions for Windows 7 - some of them can also be used with TC 7.57a.

Notice: If you have previously installed the addons from this package including the HTML Help, then you may have to delete the file wcmd_eng.chm in the language folder in order to use TC 7.5x's new default totalcmd.chm Help file. :!:
Contents:
wcmd_ext1_eng.mnu
wcmd_ext2_eng.mnu
wcmd_ext1_eng.lng
wcmd_ext2_eng.lng
wcmd_ext1_eng.inc
wcmd_ext2_eng.inc
wcmd_ext1_eng.ini
wcmd_ext2_eng.ini
wcmd_ext1_eng.bar
wcmd_ext2_eng.bar
wcmd_ext3_dan.bar
wcmd_ext_eng.zip
wcmd_ext_eng.txt
about_plugins.txt

wcmd_ext1_eng.mnu and wcmd_ext2_eng.mnu are alternative menus for TC that includes almost all the internal commands that it makes sense to use in the menu. Includes among others separate menu items for "Filter", "Navigate", "Focus", "Lister", "Tabs", "FTP", "Folders" and "Misc.". Furthermore there is a "Windows XP" menu item that holds most programs installed with Windows XP and an extended "Help" menu item with links to Total Commander related web pages.

wcmd_ext1_eng.mnu has a single "View" menu which is common to both file panels.
wcmd_ext2_eng.mnU has separate "Left" and "Right" menus (like Norton Commander).

wcmd_ext1_eng.lng and wcmd_ext2_eng.lng are (almost) identical to TC's internal dialog, and the use of these two files makes it easy to change language and menu at the same time with just one click - simply just choose "English with extended menu 1 (by petermad)" or "English with extended menu 2 (by petermad)" in the language dialog.

wcmd_ext1_eng.inc and wcmd_ext2_eng.inc are slightly improved versions of the original commands descriptions.

wcmd_ext1_eng.ini and wcmd_ext2_eng.ini are user command files which are necessary for the user commands in the "Windows XP" and "Help" menu entries among others.

wcmd_ext1_eng.bar and wcmd_ext2_eng.bar are two button bars with the same programs as the "Windows XP" menu item. wcmd_ext3_eng.bar is a button bar that shows all the internal commands that has an icon in the wcmicons.dll file. You can switch between the button bars using the menu item "Windows XP".

wcmd_ext_eng.zip is a self installing archive containing several Addons for Total Commander:

1: Extended Icon Set for TC (with 48x48 icons) (wciconex.dll, wciconex.inc).
2: Old Style Help for TC (totalcmd.hlp).
3: English Standalone Lister (lister.exe, lister.exe.manifest).
4: Extended File Comments for TC (descript.ion).
5: Folder Icon for TC (desktop.ini). Write protect TC's program folder to see the icon.
6: Official English language files (wcmd_eng.lng, wcmd_eng.mnu and wcmd_eng.inc).

You can install this package from the Menu: "Help" -> "Install Addons for Total Commander". If the files already exists, you will be asked whether you want to overwrite them.

about_plugins.txt is a file with information about the use of the menu item "Lister".
:arrow: Notice that for Menu 2, "Quick View" under "Left" and "Right" is changed as from version 7.50, so that the view is now opened in the opposite panel.

---------------

Bemærk: Hvis du tidligere har installeret udvidelserne fra denne pakke inklusive HTML Hjælp, så er du evt. nødt til at slette filen wcmd_dan.chm i language mappen for at kunne anvende TC 7.5x's nye standard totalcmd.chm hjælpefil. :!:

Indhold:
wcmd_ext1_dan.mnu
wcmd_ext2_dan.mnu
wcmd_ext1_dan.lng
wcmd_ext2_dan.lng
wcmd_ext1_dan.inc
wcmd_ext2_dan.inc
wcmd_ext1_dan.ini
wcmd_ext2_dan.ini
wcmd_ext1_dan.bar
wcmd_ext2_dan.bar
wcmd_ext3_dan.bar
wcmd_ext_dan.zip
wcmd_ext_dan.txt
om_plugins.txt

wcmd_ext1_dan.mnu og wcmd_ext2_dan.mnu er alternative menuer til TC, som indeholder næsten alle interne kommandoer, som det er meningsfyldt at bruge i menuen. Bl.a. separate menupunkter for "Filtrer", "Naviger", "Fokus", "Lister", "Faner", "FTP", "Mapper" og "Diverse".

4. Engelsk Old Style hjælp til TC (totalcmd.hlp).
5: Dansk standalone Lister (lister.exe, lister.exe.manifest).
6: Udvidede filkommentarer til TC (descript.ion).
7: Mappeikon til TC (desktop.ini). Skrivebeskyt TC's programmappe for at se ikonet.

New updated version 7.50b1a
The thread title is a bit confusing. Sounds like there is a TC version valled 76.0 b1a.

Just a little Smile
MENUITEM "&About Windows Commander...", cm_About
In both mnu !
Fortunately TC changes it to "Total Commander" when it is used in the menu - I think I left it as "Windows Commander" to se for how long Christian would keep the code that checks for "Windows Commander" in .mnu and .lng files and changes it to "Total Commander" .

But I should better change it.

OK, I changed the title for the Topic.

I still have to use a new name for the downloadable file - totalcmd.net does not allow silent updates.

BTW - what happened to your avatar?

Hi, i've found duplicate em_xyz commands in wcmd_ext1_eng.ini & wcmd_ext2_eng.ini (tcmd750b1a_eng.zip).

Code: Select all

[em_sync]
cmd=%COMMANDER_PATH%\totalcmd.exe /S=S
param=%P %T
menu=Synkroniser mapper (separat instans)
button=%COMMANDER_PATH%\totalcmd.exe,32

[em_sync]
cmd=%COMMANDER_PATH%\totalcmd.exe /S=S
param=/N "%P" "%T"
menu=Syncronize Directories (separate instance)
button=%COMMANDER_PATH%\totalcmd.exe,32

Thanks petermad for great work!

I have made some additions since the last version of your menu. Any fast way to preserve them and apply to the new version?

Thanks for noticing - it is the second one that has to be used - for some reason when putting in the quotes around %P and %T you need either some switch (hence /N) or to put the whole param in another quote - ""%P" "%T"".

Those extra quotes are only necessary in the em_ commands, not when used directly for example in a Button or in the Start menu.

No, I dont think so - Use Compare by Content in edit mode to copy your additions to my new files.

Is it some additions that could be in public interest, that you might want to share with the community?

Well, it was a lot easier than on the first thought, just copy/paste from changed to new menu. I don't think that is of public interest, mostly some programs I use with different types od parameters.

But another very peculiar thing I have noticed, and that has nothing in common with above.

With new version of your menu, my XCD stops working, it doesn't change the directory. After some investigation, i discovered that .lng file was the problem but i don't know why. If I use the older .lng with new .mnu and .ini no problem, it works normally. If new .lng is used, TC just doesn't change directory from XCD. Very strange behaviour. Can anyone else confirm it?

Try to remove the line:
codepage=1252

from the language file - I have had another report of the program "Everything" not working with that line.

That was on Win 7 - what Windows version are you using :?:

Does you XCD not work if you use any other language that has a codepage= line in the .lng file - try with fx wcmd_deu.lng :?:

WinXP SP2

Same thing with wcmd_ext1_dan.lng from your package.

Everythings works well with that line removed. Thanks.

Even when I changed the line to codepage=1251, works no problem. That's my locale setting I guess that has something to do with it.

Thanks again.
