hi christian g and helpers.
i got 17 partitions on 5 harddiscs on my pc and very often i wished it would be able to see at first glance which partition is asigned to the respective hd.
for example c:, d:, e:, :f belong to the first hd and these buttons might be red. g:, h:, i: to another hd and could be painted in another color.

or a number on the buttons that shows which hd the partition is located on.

hopefully to achieve this wouldn't be much of an effort.....

:) Hello !

• Prior, nothing against your idea, but if you mean the drive-buttons on the drive-buttons bar,
I doubt that the Author adds such a feature… :?

• A poor workaround should be to install buttons to change the drives in the windows, but in the upper button-bar.
- To do so, you may use the commands cm_GotoDrive… (…= from A to Z).
- Then, you can assign appropriate icons, having the wished colours according to your hard-disks.
- I could draw these icons if you wish (for free), just specify the layout of all your partitions with regard to the hard-disks,
which colours you want for, and the icon size.
- However, it seems difficult to get meaningful patterns smaller than 24²…
- Please, send these indications via e-mail if you are interested in such a solution (I did already for a user…).
…or a number on the buttons that shows which hd the partition is located on.
• You can't add this on the button itself, but it's possible to get customized info-texts using the WINCMD.INI entry :
[DriveHints]
E=HD-2
for instance…
- Add that section if it's missing, and one line in that painting for each partition…

 Kind regards,
Claude

hello clo
tried your [DriveHints]-tipp.....perfect.
would be greater to have different colored drive-buttons, but it's very much ok this way.
much easier than to open the devicemanager.

thanks a lot
