Column headers always shown in white color

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Which system theme do you use?

What happens when you place TabHeaderThemed=0 in [Layout] section of your windcmd.ini file?

Can you give me more details, please? It shouldn't happen even with TabHeaderThemed=1.

Please don't give users hints about workarounds in the bug forum, otherwise if there is really a bug it will never get fixed. :(

It was not my intention. I've just wanted to be sure it's theming problem and not something else.

Hi.

With TabHeaderThemed=0 inside the section [Layout], the tab headers look exactly like in T.C. 7.04a. I.e. all tab headers use a light grey background colour. The column which is used for sorting looks pressed down.

With TabHeaderThemed=1 inside the section [Layout], the tab headers all, except 1, use a light grey background colour which covers only the lower half of the tab header height. The upper half is almost white.
The column which is used for sorting the filelist has got a tab header with light blue background. The light blue is more colourful in the lower half of the tab header and pale in the upper half of the tab header.

Cf. this screenshot, please, TC750_TabHeaderThemedOffOn_Vista.png

Kind regards and hope this may be helpful somehow,
Karl

PNG for graphics

Post by *Clo »

:) Hi Karl !
…Cf. this screenshot, please, TC750_TabHeaderThemedOffOn.jpg
¤ Aside :
• IMHO, JPG is far to be the good format to show a graphic issue…
- I get it quite blurry, with fake colours added… It's better to use PNG, that's a more suitable format for such images ;)

I can verify that TabHeaderThemed=1 and TabHeaderThemed=0 make no differenece. They both
show white on XP Pro SP3 with the silver windows theme.

How do I un-overwrite all my data?

Hi, boofo.
Release of what?
Sorry to have caused confusion: "next public picture release" just means that I will recreate the screenshots asap and post them as PNG-files, because Claude rightly complained that the JPG-screenshots were of low quality.

Cheers,
Karl

Oh, ok. I thought maybe I was missing something there. I thought they looked fine for what they were showing, but then I'm old and can't see worth a dang. ;)

To be precise it is not white, but silver.

Yet, confirmed, due to the internal colour design of the Silver Theme, the themed tab header look and the unthemed tab header look cannot be told apart by the colour differences easily. The difference is light grey vs silver in some places.

The most noticeable difference is the presence or absence of the TabHeaderBoldArrow. In case you switch this off as well, for users of the Silver Theme on XP, the setting TabHeaderThemed=1 vs TabHeaderThemed=0 makes almost no difference at all.

Cf. these screenshots taken on Windows XP using the Silver Theme and the Blue Theme.

Hm, looking at the various screenshots taken on XP and on Vista, the conclusion might be that the difference between TabHeaderThemed=1 and TabHeaderThemed=0 is most noticeable on Vista using the Aero Theme.

Kind regards,
Karl

Note:
I realize pretty well that what we are referring to as "Silver Theme" is in fact the "Windows XP Luna Theme" using the "Silver" colour schema.
Equally what I call the "Blue Theme" is in fact the "Windows XP Luna Theme" using the "Blue" colour schema.

I guess I didn't look at it that close. I set the TabHeaderThemed to 0 and it looks better without all the white. I added TabHeaderBoldArrow=1 to the INI file and the colors are the same whether that is tunned off or on. I think it would look good to have the tabheader that is focused to be white and the other color the way it is now.
