tooltips not completed?
tooltips wont show entire file name only truncated (this works in 7.04 but not 7.5 including b4)
it works for small files under 9999 bytes but not for larger (10000+ bytes), file names remain truncated
options/display/help texts/show filename as tooltip if truncated = checked
system: vista sp2 x64

Hello, Grave.
I cannot confirm that T.C. 7.04a and T.C. 7.50 PB4 behave differently and that T.C. 7.50 PB4 cuts filenames inside tooltips for files which are larger than 9999 bytes.
By accident there are 3 files inside the "documents" folder which are between 32 and 37 KB. Their names are long enough to be truncated in "full" view mode. The tooltips reveal the complete filenames untruncated. But they will be displayed across two lines.
+ Windows Vista Home Premium, 32bit, ger (sorry, no 64bit Vista available)
+ Total Commander 7.50 PB4
Kind regards,
Karl

Nice info-text

Hello !
• I can't reproduce the bug either here with XP-Pro SP1 32-bit (FR).
- The pop-up info-text shows the whole name as it should, please see THIS TEST IMAGE…

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the problem either - I tried with both aligned extensions and extrnsions directly attached to the file names.

Can you give me an example of a name which is truncated but the tooltip isn't shown, please?

Ellipsis please ?

Good afternoon,
• Just as an aside :
- The only bug I see there is that we have only two dots forward the truncated name, instead of an ellipsis … (ANSI #133).
- Since now the default font is always complete, please could you set it ?
TIA !

Hello !
You get only the info-text of the file-name the mouse cursor is hovering, one at once…
the pop-up info-text is displayed alright…

• What do you mean exactly…second file wont show tooltip

- Not confirmed : I created another file having a VERY long name, split into six parts with five dots,…another difference i noticed is it happens on long filenames which have dots in place of spaces.
the pop-up info-text is displayed alright…

No change

Again…
(a as quotation to get all characters, the “Code” font can't) ?
- I don't think that the comments style choice (descript.ion - files.bbs) be relevant here.

• Please, could you copy these two file-names and paste them here in a messagewhen i hover over first file, tooltips are displayed as shown in screenshot
when i hover over second file, nothing happens …
(a as quotation to get all characters, the “Code” font can't) ?
• Only the Win32-style tips… could do matter (perhaps). I disabled it and nothing changed, the info-text is displayed alright.…other 3 options are disabled (including win32-style tips)
- I don't think that the comments style choice (descript.ion - files.bbs) be relevant here.

As "Clo" writes, please post the two file names as text here! I cannot see the second name because it's truncated...

- Yes, that doesn't look nice. I assume that the 2 dots come directly from the resources (?)The only bug I see there is that we have only two dots forward the truncated name, instead of an ellipsis … (ANSI #133).
where the font is still MS Sans Serif ?
- If so, switching to a complete bitmap font (i.e. Dina) is strongly desirable…
