I haven't decided yet whether I will include more languages in the installer of TC 7.5 final. I have already included Russian and Romanian as a "thank you" for increasing orders from these countries. There aren't many orders from China yet (except for xbeta's collective order), but that's no wonder since the average salaries in China are still very low (a few 100$/month). Therefore not many people could really afford to buy it. Also most people don't have a credit card, and sending money abroad is difficult and expensive. Therefore I don't really mind if people from China do not buy the program for now, but of course I appreciate it very much if you want to actively support Total Commander. Btw, user Xbeta has just started a new collective order.

The average salaries is not really a meaningful number. There are already millions Chinese with a much higher income but still hundreds of millions who have much less than 100$/month.

你真可爱。
不过,如果国外读者不知道这次活动,也就不能通过google进行翻译了。
另外,我们的报名表限定“国家”必须是中国。
這只是作為一個玩笑。

An average is almost never a meaningful number. Especially in China where every number seems to big..

The number of rich people is growing in China, and so is the income gap. But no difference than anywhere else.
I was living on welfare, so couldn't afford a TC license. Then a good friend of mine offered me one.

I think in these circumstances this concept of a collective order is a good alternative.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to download the stuff like plugins (1, 2) from that sites. No registration, no invites...
BTW I created a little page with links to tc-related sites, it's here. Some of sites mentioned above are included.

I got my key finally!

Thanks very much for Xbeta and GeekFox, they gave me a good chance to buy it smoothly. I think all the user join to the collective order thank them like me.

I want to talk about my feeling as a consumer.

I appreciate Ghisler's sprit and style to make SW. So good is TC! it’s one of the best tools I ever used, and I can use its full function without register, he came into my life about 1 year, now he like my old friend. Rather than buy TC its own, I buy it because of my respect to the authors.

I planned to buy it half year before, but local seller’s price here is much higher than global price,(more than 300 RMB, I remember), I do have credit card, but I never use any your payment method on the web-site, to say the truth, I don’t trust them.

Thanks for Xbeta and GeekFox’s effort again! They built a bridge for us to achieve. I pay via AliPay which is the most popular E- commercial payment method of China. There is millions of business on processing everyday. You can try it, may win more Chinese users. :)

I agree there are many places not developed in China, but the income of east country, special big cities, is much higher than you think. As I known, the average income of Beijing is about 300$/moth. And the people around me almost double of this, or more. So your price is no problem, we can afford.

I think the biggest problem of China is Copyright. Many people here still use SW not illegal, this status is changing gradually, and our government is helping us build copyright consciousness, punish the thieves who use the stolen SW for commercial business.

A poor man, to whom what to eat is a problem, can’t consider the thing like copyright, but after he become rich and well educated, he will realize stealing copyright is disgraceful and shameful.

At last, as a Localization Engineer, I want give some advice: There are 2 kinds of Chinese for now. the Chinese Main Land added in RC2 should be Simplified Chinese, which used in most of China, so Simplified Chinese is better than Chinese Main Land. Another Chinese is Traditional Chinese, which used in Taiwan province and Hongkong. Pls kindly known there is only one China in the world, just language a little different.

Thanks for all of you, thanks for your classic

First, many thanks for supporting our work!

Traditional Chinese is also available via our addons page here:

How popular is Alipay in China? Recently I got a newsletter from RegNow that they can now handle Alipay payments, so if this is popular in China, I could start offering it.

To Author,
Alipay is quite popular, because of its intergration with "Taobao.com" which is No.1 C2C market in China.

I also participated in Xbeta and GeekFox "Batch Buy", payed by Alipay, as a gift to my friend. I already have myown , payed by credit card.

I support fanzhixin's advice. Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese is much straightforward than something like main land. btw, Singapore and Malaysia also use simplified Chinese.

IMHO, Simplified and Traditional is better choice.

thanks for replay G :)

Yes, Alipay is very popular in China

it's the only way I used for E-payment until now. I often purchase telephone card and some electronic product via it. I once paid for updating my SonyERSSION cell phone’s firmware on-line with it.

GeekFox here.

alipay is quite famous in China, just like paypal in the US.
i don't know whether there will be any additional fees while buying/selling things via paypal, but i'm quite sure that paying through alipay is totally free to both seller and customer. That's why it beat paypal (in China) easily years ago.

the only thing you should worry about is, it supports no other language other than Chinese, so you might have to use it thorugh some third party (eg. RegNow)

BTW, There are 223 users already paid for their TC till now.
(including the first collective order which has been sent to Ghisler already)
and, i'd like to notice that, all these orders are made during this very month!
(signing up begins Aug 1, and charging begins Aug 4)

2Lefteous:
put aside the pricing, the means of payment does matters.
if you want to buy a lisence for tc, you have two official ways (in China),
one is to buying it from the reseller for about 350 CNY(~$51.25),
(oops, i tried to visit the reseller's site, but it looks like their page for TC has closed for long.)
the other way is going to a bank and exchange your CNY into USD, then transfer it to ghisler's bank accout, paying handling fees, and filling some very complex trasferring form...
were you to have such trouble buying a lisence for your TC, what will you think?
