Please use forum's "Search" feature. This issue has been discussed many times (i. e. http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=6776).

Shortly: unpacking ZIP archives can be done in background because an author wrote this procedure and he can be sure it is happening in separate thread. Because he can't be sure for other packers and plugins, he decided not to add it.

So this feature was removed in 7.5 from 7.0x releases? I just noticed that missing feature.

:) Hello !

• Whether you have a WinRar installed, you can disable the TC option :
Configuration >> Packer ---RAR---
[ ] Use internal un-RAR if possible
- Then you'll be able to send the operation in the BG since the displayed WinRar dialogue has a BG button…

Even without any buttons in WinRar dialog every external application runs in background because it doesn't blocking TC. :)
So, for background unpacking it is enough just to use any external unpacker.

INI as ?

:) Hello !

• But why does that INI entry exist ? :P
AlwaysUnpackInBackground=Flag
0 : Disabled (default).
1 : unzip in background
2 : unzip+external unpackers in background
3 : like 2, but run external unpackers minimized
- According to this option, it seems that you need at least the <2> flag set, since the <0> default disables this choice … :roll:
- Here, the INI entry isn't added, so the WinRar box is shown, it simply gets the focus during the time taken by the operation…
