Sticky Select (Option & Toggle)

Currently the only way to have sticky selections is to enable NC Mouse Mode (Right Button Mouse Mode). I believe it would be beneficial for "sticky select" to be a separate option that doesn't rely on the NC Mouse Mode setting.

The optimum would be for this to be a command, cm_ToggleStickySelect - which could be enabled and disabled as desired and would function even if regular Left Button mouse mode was used (i.e. Ctrl or Shift Clicks, space, ins[ert], etc). Thus when enabled any selections would not be cleared when (left) clicking within the file list.

I don't think that Ghisler will implement special selection mode. But I think that it might be a good idea to have internal command to switch mouse mode - so you won't need separate mouse selection mode.

PS. I don't use ugly left-button selection mode at all. Also I do not use context menu often, but I believe that if I will need it, I find a way to open it w/o delay (Application key on every keyboard since Windows 95 times and cm_ContextMenu command yet exist).

Either one would get the job done.

I like StickySelect...but find at least half the time I wish it wasn't enabled. I've done a slew of AHK Mouse "fixes" to make Ctrl+Left Click work _properly_ when NC Mode is on... But it's tedious to have to go into Config anytime I want to switch modes. (I suppose most ppl don't switch modes).

TC is installed in a non windows-compatibility modus: NC Mouse (marking with right click), but without context menu.

A suggestion of mine in the german forum ([REQ] Rechtsklick schaltet in den Markiermodus, Babelfish Translation, Google Translation) was to use the windows mode (contextmenu on the right button) as default (installation) and introduce the possibility to turn on marking-mode by mouse. Like that when we have the ToggleStickySelect - command in the contextmenu: "Marking Modus".

When the user keeps the right mouse button pressed, one receives a contextmenu. Since Version 7.5 we have a small progressbar showing the time that it takes.

It is a little bit unfair that NC-Mode offers Contextmenu but Windows-Standards can't be used for marking.

In Vista and Se7en one can enable check boxes in the file panels to select items.
I would like to have this feature in Total Commander too.

Balderstrom, I admire your suggestions and love your proposals. Keep it up! :)
