Unlogical behavior : Search / Listbox

For some time now I am annnoyed by a very unlogical behavior. Let's say I search for some files/dirs and have the results feeded to the listbox and then do some operations, like DELETE (e.g. all occurrences of "Thumbs.db" in a folder structure). After the operation is finished TC returns to an empty, dead window instead of returning to the directory in which the search was invoked.

That is dead stupid and should have been changed ages ago as it's pretty boring to then have to navigate back to your directory you were working in. In fact with all the stuff TC stores anyway (histories), the directory of invocation is still 'present' in cache - it's just not put to use. What's so hard in having TC automatically skip back?

I tried and reproduce the error you got.. When i did delete the always annoying "Thumbs.db" in the searched and feed to listbox the results where still there after i deleted them. A update in the search result after a delete file i think should be in place.

But maybe a work around for getting back to previous directory i use in (keyboard remapping) "cm_GoToParent" on my "LEFT" arrow key so going back to previous directory its easy! It might help you?

<BackSpace>
<Ctrl+R> (<F2>)
Buttonbar [Reread source]
cm_Rereadsource

I am a bit late to the party, but if I may, let me suggest something else.

While Holger already pointed out that a simple <backspace> will bring you back to where you came from - and if you have got a browse-back-button on your mouse, this will also do the trick, even a middle-button-click might do as long as you haven't cofigured your mouse otherwise - I would suggest that you press/click <Shift>&"Feed_to_listbox" next time instead of "Feed_to_listbox" alone.

In that case the search-results are transferred to a new Tab leaving the original panel untouched. This way you can switch between the original window and the search-results in parallel and simply close the search-list as soon as the job is done.

I have already suggested to Christian to change the default behavior of the "Feed_to_listbox"-button to "Feed_to_new_Tab" - at least for those who have Tabs enabled in general - and would like to hereby renew my suggestion and submit it for discussion as a feature request. This would also address the - imho most unfortunate - German equivalent name of that button "Anwenden" (e.g. change to "Treffer->Tab" or "->Trefferliste").

And I apologize in advance, should this have been proposed many times before.

greetings
Gerald
