Hello, Peter.

This seems to be a follow-up of your own series of Offical crash report(s).

You still have the Twinkey plugin enabled. And you have never reported whether you searched for or found a faulty shell extension.

Also I remember fenix_productions stating
I think you should rather report this to Twinkey author because this "plugin" does not follow plugins API in nice way. It provides dozen functionalities via hooking TC dll's. It is prone to strange errors.
Therefore, I wonder whether all your official crash reports can be reproduced with Twinkey disabled or uninstalled.

Kind regards,
Karl

I now disabled Twinkey after this crash and I'm sure that TC will be stable again.

Yes, but I said this happens not in a reproducible situation, and I have many shellextensions to disable. But I will report if the situation is more clear.

regards

This time it looks more like an "out of resources" error: The error occurs in TWinControl.GetHandle, where the library tries to get a window handle for a dialog or dialog box element. This seems to fail somewhere in Windows.

Will be fixed this? Even via dialog "Cannot handle" and cancelling enter to popup - still much more better than imediate crash of TotalCommander with lost of tabs and so on.

Hi, mab007.

You might address this question to Microsoft as much as to Christian.
In cases where Windows runs out of resources - usually out of resources for some Windows internal system administration functions - this may or may not leave any chance to a Windows application to terminate properly.

If the basement of a house is no longer stable, the roof may not be able to preserve its stability, either.

Kind regards,
Karl

Youre right karlchen,
microsoft operating system is lot of bugs anyway, but where was TC the best win software ever was in that, that can skip or workaround or jump over this lot of bugs. Now i see getting small will to doing TC better, stable and implement new usable-friendly functions.

It is possible to call store settings via calling popup? If cannot be fix popup-crash, be good store tabs, history e.t.c before call this dangerous function. Popup crash also in 7.55b2 version of TC.
