I just have a short request. Maybe this is already exists but if not i just wanted to request a "mark favorite" feature. If there is a file you want to find fast the next time you look in the folder its placed you can press a hotkey to "favorite" it. so its easier to find! Thanks!
Here is a mockup:

It is not possible the way you describe it but you can have something close enough to it:
1. go to
Configuration ->
Display ->
Color
2. click on
Define colors by file type
3. in new window click on
Add
4. click on
Define
5. in
Define selection window go to
Plugins tab
6. set:
Plugin: tc
Property: comment
OP: contains
Value: fav
7. click on
Save and type in your name (i.e.
Favourites)
8.
OK ->
OK -> choose your colour
9. click
OK three times
And now when you want to indicate your favourite folder:
1. use [face=courier]Ctrl+Z[/face] to bring up
File comment window
2. type
fav in it
3. hit [face=courier]F2[/face]
The only drawback is the lack of support for Unicode named files.

Beside
fenix_productions tip, you can use
Directory Menu Editor to add your favorite files to TC hotlist as follow:
1- Run
Directory Menu Editor
2- Create sub-menu and name it e.g. "My Favorite Files"
3- In TC or Explorer go to your file, press
Ctrl then drag it to "My Favorite Files" menu
4- Repeat step 3 as many as you need then save changes.
Now in TC press Ctrl+D and select your file, TC will go to that file.

Directory Menu had been first which came to my mind but I changed it after seeing linked screenshot. It looks like need for indication + jumping rather than other way around.
Well… both of our answers combined make the best possible solution

Wow thanks this is exactly what i was looking for! The only problem is that when i Bookmark a file/folder its only saved temporarly, when i restart totalcmd the bookmark is removed
There is a STICKY feature that works like bookmarks except i places the marked file/folder at the top of the list, i dont like that but it saves it so when i restart its still marked with a color.

Bookmarks CAN be saved between TC sessions. Please read the documentation carefully.

Or go to the totalcmd.ru forums via googleTranslate and follow the thread there. I had to do some digging through that thread to figure out a number of things in the beginning.
Unfortunately, VadiMGP isn't around "here" much anymore, but his Russian TwinKey thread is quite active -- the last time I checked.

This checkbox is second on the "Bookmarks" page in the TWinKey Utilisator. Good luck.

You do have the old version, apparently so did I --- Though I have the most recent .zip, just not installed
Get the most recent at
MGPSoft. Apparently
en.totalcmd.pl has an outdated version as well.

I gave the directory listing, one might be interested in some of the other apps MGP lists

I still use TCMenu for some of my buttonBar items, along with a few of his other plugins.
