Saving Search options without search in folder

It is a good feature to save Search options. But when saving Search options the folder to search in is always saved too.
I often search for files with the same search options in different folders. It would be nice for me to save the search options without the folder. So when I load a saved Search the current folder should not be overwritten.
Maybe an additional checkbox when saving Search options
"Save Search in Folder?"

Hello, steingau.

What you are requesting can be done already today:
  • If you launch <Alt><F7> (Search) from some random place,
select the location(s) to search inside the search dialogue and
    save this search,
in this case the starting foldername(s) will be remembered, too.
If you launch this saved search in the future it will always starting searching in the rembered folder(s).
(This is what you do not want.)

Here are 3 ways of getting what you want instead:
  • Before saving your search you can manually clear the "search-in" field and then save the search. An empty "search-in" field will always be interpreted as the current folder whatever this will be when you launch the saved search next time.
  • Before saving you can always set the seach-in field to "." (dot without the double quotes) and save your search. "." always denotes the current folder whatever this will be when you launch the saved search next time.
  • If you go to a folder which you want to search first,
    launch <Alt><F7> (Search) next,
    save this search,
in this case the starting foldername(s) will not be remembered.
Therefore this saved search will always start in the current folder from where it will be launched in the future.
Kind regards,
Karl
