Delete tab with directory

Post by *Clo »

:D   Hello!

• When we have a locked tab which belongs to a directory, and then you delete that directory, the tab stays.
• We have to close it from the right-clic menu.

   It'ld be nice that the tab be deleted together the dir. to which it belongs…

  Kind regards,
Claude

I'm with you, Clo.
As I posted before, current behave may confuses the new users.

 Sorry, the Search doesn't find a cow in a corridor!
- Right, it's confusing... I no longer use tabs now. I imagined a tool instead.

You can find easily the corresponding pool in POOLS...

Tabs is what got me to use TC. If tabs were dropped, I'd probably go back to Directory Opus.

:D  Hi!
• Itsn't the issue to suppress tabs! It's only to use them or not; users who don't want / like tabs using may get an optional tool instead.
• Only the Author can decide to suppress something in the program, of course.

• Personally, I would always prefer TC without tabs - like it was for 10 years, than another file-manager, even the one you quote...
  It's only my own opinion, you're free to have another...
  Best regards,
Claude

TC doesn't automatically delete tabs when the underlying directory is deleted. Why? The tab may be pointing to a server which is currently offline, or to an often used temporary directory of a different program which only exists when this program runs. There are many other reasons why a user may want a tab pointing to a dir which currently doesn't exist...
