[TC 6.01 bug] Quickview on Desktop don't work.

Post by *Flint »

Try to do so: Open Desktop on one TC's panel, put cursor on one of the files on it and press Ctrtl+Q to get quickview in another panel. There appears some delay for 1-2 seconds and then in quickview panel a single question mark appears. If you move cursor up or down, quickview begins working correctly and displays the contents of the file under cursor, even for the file you tried to see first.

Running WinXP Pro.

Everything was displayed correctly for me. This included .txt .lnk and .htm files on the Desktop.

I could not reproduce the results you had on my XP system.

Just a FYI for reference. :D

Confirmed, of course. Anyway, it's one of the many probs with virtual folders in TC.
Just use %userprofile%\desktop and you'll have no problems.

Perhaps I did not have the problem because I actually navigated to my root drive, then on into the desktop in my User Profile directory??

@Jaguarist:
The problem exists in virtual desktop folder only.
Just make a button with command cm_OpenDesktop and you will be able to reproduce the error.

L'important n'est pas de convaincre, mais de donner à réfléchir.
The important thing is not to convince, but to incite to think.

Indeed Ctrl+Q doesn't currently support virtual folders like the desktop. I will try to add it in a later version.
