[8.0b1 - x64] context menu -> no properties

Post by *ceeboks »

hi. clicking on properties in the contextmenu does not open the properties popup-window anymore in 8b1.
i'd like to change the icon for a folder....no way w/o properties, i guess.

thanks a lot for the 64bit version

I don't confirm: "Properties" is the last item, and it is easy to change the folder icon. Do you see other context menu items?

yes, looks as if every item is there, except the entry for QuickPar. but this might be caused by the previous quickpar-reg-fix for win64. will check it out.

....right, properties is the last item, but i cannot open the properties. neither by clicking with the mouse nor keyboard.

I can. It's definitely QuickPar and other tweakers. I don't use one.

can't agree. uninstalled quickpar and still no accessible properties item.

in addition no different icons for .exe files & no icons in sendto menu.

...hmm. don't know what i could have done wrong. everything is running very well on my system.

would it be better to uninstall the 32bit tc prior to installing the 64bit version?
now, i have both versions running in the same directory....?
i put the wincmd.ini in the installdirectory....?

Could you try this problem with beta 2, please? It may be caused by the faulty Lazarus exception handling too, which was fixed in beta 2.

Can anyone still reproduce this problem?

the 'X64Menu=1 ' trick of holgerk fixed the problem for me.
in order to check this with tc8beta7, i deleted the X64Menu=1entry again =
no 'quickpar' entry in the contextmenue anymore.

maybe the program 'quickpar' should be uninstalled & reinstalled?
