[8.0B4 x64] Korean fonts not working
I'm sorry. I don't speak English very well.
I'm using Windows 7 x64 Korean.
History.txt
04.10.11 Fixed: Locale set to e.g. Korean or Chinese -> choosing font with non-English name not working in main and Lister configuration dialogs (64)
incomplete...
I set up dialog box font "Malgun Gothic(맑은 고딕)".
But totalcmd x64 ignored custom font setting.
totalcmd x64 use file list font "Dotum(돋움)" instead of custom dialog box font.
please compare capture files.

Strange, you mean that the correct font name is shown now, but the wrong font is used?

I can confirm this.
1. Font preview is not correct.
The selected font is korean but it is not displayed correctly.
There was same problem in the previous versions of TCMD (7.x) anyway.
Font configurations other than Dialog box font work without any problem. Just one execption: Bold style of some font could not be applied. It seems like TCMD recognize ExtraBold as Bold style.
The correct font name is shown, but I guess the only one font (gulim) is used in Dialog box font.

2. Partially Correct.Strange, you mean that the correct font name is shown now, but the wrong font is used?

I confirm the first problem too. Here Cyrillic font is selected, but TC in the Fonts dialog displays sample characters latin diacritics.

Interesting, so why didn't anyone report it? TC 7 has been out for many years...There was same problem in the previous versions of TCMD (7.x) anyway.

I think it's a trivial thing to report.ghisler(Author) wrote:Interesting, so why didn't anyone report it? TC 7 has been out for many years...

Well, if you say so, there is another problem.
The quick search of TCMD using korean characters, probably double-byte languages, is not working as you think.
I gave up to use this function from the beginning.

I could reproduce and fix that now for the next beta.I set up dialog box font "Malgun Gothic(맑은 고딕)".
But totalcmd x64 ignored custom font setting.
Confirmed that too.1. Font preview is not correct.
I CANNOT reproduce that. It works just fine in the 32-bit version, both 7.x and 8.There was same problem in the previous versions of TCMD (7.x) anyway.
Not confirmed either! The quick search of TCMD using korean characters, probably double-byte languages, is not working as you think.
My guess is that you don't have Korean set for non-Unicode programs. This is neccessary for fonts with Korean names to work in TC.

Strange, here the IME works just fine with Korean characters in quick search. I have to use letters - with search dialog.

Hmm, works for me.
How about the fonts, do they work for you now?

My bad.
This fooled me. I apologize to sheppaul for hijacking his/her problem, whose details I don't know.
And I can confirm that fonts are working.
Code: Select all
[Configuration]
QuickSearchAutoFilter=
