In that case of using quick search it remains on the old cursor position an inactive cursor on active panel. If moving active cursor with arrow keys the inactive cursor disappears on active panel.
Two inactive cursors on inactive panel are shown in that case above that inactive and active cursor are shown and after that changing the active panel with TAB key.
More than one inactive cursors on inactive panel are shown if changing active panel with mouse to another position than inactive cursor and after that changing back the active panel. Now the inactive panel show 2 inactive cursors. Repeat the procedure and anonther inactive cursors appears.

NOT confirmed, 32-bit+64bit, Win7, AeroGlass.
1. Which quick search option do you use?
2. Which version of TC, 32-bit or 64-bit?
3. Which Windows version and theme?
WXP 32 bit SP3 classic theme
changing active panel has the same problem.
It seems to be a redrawing problem because changing the focus to another application removes parts of the false inactive cursors.

Default active cursor and "InactiveFocus=1" is used.

Beta 9 fixed a lot of the erroneous behaviour with inactive cursor. There is still one inactive cursor on active panel during quick search is used. But I suppose we can live with that

Same environment described above. Quick search is "Letter - with search dialog".
Using quick search by typing a letter. Quick search window appears. Active cursor jumps to matching entry and old active cursor becomes incative cursor. With closing quick search window the inactive cursor disappears. The same behaviour with other dialog windows e.g. F7 or configuration: the active cursor becomes an inactive cursor.
However IMHO it is only a cosmetic problem. IMHO no change necessary.

Steps to reproduce and confirm that it is a bug:
0. Config quick search mode as Ctrl+Alt+Letter, Alt+Letter or just Letter (with search dialog).
1. Open TC folder.
2. Choose sorting by name.
3. Put focus onto TOTALCMD.inc file (not the first file with name starting with letter T).
4. Pess [[Ctrl+]Alt+]C depending on QS setting. Don't open quick filter dialog, just press hotkey to focus file with name starting with letter C. TC draws active focus rectangle on a found file and inactive focus on a file TOTALCMD.inc!
5. Press Backspace and then T (TC will focus first file with name starting with letter T), and use Up/Down to walk within found group. Note that when you go through file TOTALCMD.incinactive focus rectangle disappears.
