[solved] Multiple focus rectangles with inactivefocus=1 when copying

Post by *petermad »

Copy an amount of folders and files from one panel to the other. Whenever a folder or a file has been copied, it gets a focus rectangle and the previous one is not cleared.

This happens only with the 32bit version, but both under Win 7 x64 and Win XP 32bit.

After copying, the rectangles are cleared under Win 7, but not under Win XP. Moving the cursor with arrowUp or arrowDown will clear the rectangles under Win XP.

Hello, petermad.

Have not noticed multiple inactive cursor marks so far. Yet, will definitely watch out for them.

Windows 7 32-bit
Total Commander 8.0ß8 32-bit

Cheers,
Karl

P.S.:
Someone in the German forum reported the same problem as you. Only for RedRooster clicking several folders and files and switching active/inactive panels is enough to experience the problem on WinXP 32-bit.

I can reproduce it with a clean ini file.

It is only happening during the copying in my Win 7 64bit. Under Win XP 32bit I can still see the part of the rectangles that were not covered by the progress box - after copying.

karlchen, this kind of problem was reported already (here and here) and can be reproduced only under Windows XP.

That's not true. I can also reproduce this particular problem with the 32bit version under Win 7 x64, as I wrote in my previous postings...

Thanks, MVV, for reminding me where to find those threads. :)
I knew I had seen them before, but simply could not locate them. (Must have been blind.)

By the way, in the meantime, the problem has occurred here as well:
+ Total Commander 8.0ß8 32-bit
+ InactiveFocus=1
on
+ Wine v1.2.3 pretending to be WinXP SP4
+ Lucid Lynx 32-bit

You're right, this problem can be reproduced via copying under Win7 too.

This bug is reproduced simply by clicking on files in both panels. Click a file in the left panel, then in the right, then another one in the left, etc. WinXP SP2 32 bit, TC 8.0 beta 8 32 bit.
We are not so S.M.A.R.T. as we imagine...

You're talking about this (may be reproduced under WinXP only).

Which is not quite the same as the bug in this thread ;-)

I think the reason that causes both bugs is the same - item is not redrawn after removing inactive focus rectangle. But the ways to reproduce are different.

Hi, MVV.

Thanks for your explanation. You are right. What I saw in T.C. 8.0ß8 on Wine/Ubuntu should have been reported in either of the two threads which you pointed to, not in this thread. No copying required, just switching panels and clicking on different items is enough.

Cheers,
Karl
