[8.0b15x64] Command line history looks different under x64

Post by *Hacker »

I have TC with a black background color. In the 32-bit version, the command line history is shown as a list
- having a black background
- showing all 20 items at the same time (large height).

In the 64-bit version, however, the command line history is shown as a list
- having a white background
- showing only 8 items at any one time and being scrollable.

Expected: 64-bit to look like 32-bit.

Since the list is limited to 20 items, I also think it is a good idea to show the whole list (as in the 32bit version) in stead of a scrollable list.

Confirmed on my side. I didn't attach importance to weird background color, but now I see, it is really a bug.

I can confirm the problem with the 8 lines, but not the problem with the background color.

Hello, Christian.
ghisler(Author) wrote:I can confirm the problem with the 8 lines, but not the problem with the background color.
I can.
Total Commander uses light blue-gray as background color and a darker tone of light blue-gray as alternate background color.
The background of the T.C. commandline edit box will be light blue-gray.
This is true for T.C. 8.0ß15 32-bit and 64-bit.
If I use the drop down arrow and drop down the list of remembered commandlines, they wil be printed
+ black on light blue-gray in T.C. 8.0ß15 32-bit
+ black on white in T.C. 8.0ß15 64-bit
This happens on a Server 2008 R2 64-bit, classic theme.
(Hm, reminds me of Hacker's explanation.)

Kind regards,
Karl

I see - it seems that Lazarus cannot apply the custom color to the dropdown part of the Combobox. Sorry, you will probably have to live with that.

10.01.12 Fixed: Command line dropdown list had only 8 visible entries instead of 20 (64)
I can confirm that the TC 8.0b16 64bit version now shows all items in the command history at once, like TC 8.0b16 32bit when run under Windows 7 x64 :-)

But TC 8.0b16 32bit run under Windows XP 32bit still uses a scrollable list showing only 5 items at the time - would it be possible to make the 32 bit version work the same way under both OS's ?

The function to set the list length is probably not supported on XP...
