Mr. Ghisler,

Thank you for the fine software, which I've enjoyed using for well more than a decade. The Android TC seems to work fine on the Kindle Fire. Hope you'll make it available through the Amazon app store.

Amazing. I've been thinking of getting the Kindle Fire. Thanks for letting us know.

Unfortunately there is very little chance. Currently it's not possible for developers outside of the USA to submit apps to the Amazon app store. Even if it were possible, I would think twice whether I should do it or not. It costs $99 per year, and it's not guaranteed that they would even accept the submission.

Amazon Opens Portal for International Mobile App Distribution

Developers around the world are invited to start submitting apps today for international distribution later this year, beginning with the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain

Unfortunately my country Switzerland isn't part of the supported countries.

As I read the press release, international developers can begin submitting now, but distribution will be rolled out on a country-by-country basis. Eventually they'll get to Switzerland. Of course this may be complicated by financial (banking) requirements, which may also have to be enabled country-by-country.

Anyway, just keeping you apprised.

TC not compatible with kindle fire?

I tried to download the Google play version of TC, then on the page it says the app is not compatible with my kindle fire. The fact is, I have been using beta versions of TC on fire for a long while now.

What could possibly go wrong?

It's a bug in Google Play: Total Commander doesn't show up on devices which do not offer Bluetooth, although the Bluetooth functions are marked as optional in the manifest. The bug is only in Google Play - when you download the app directly, it will install and run just fine.
