unpacking problems

Post by *dobranszky »

hi all
I use TC on asus TF700T and on samsung galaxy s
I've downloaded some zip files containing subtitles, on both devices, but on the tablet i can't unpack them, meanwhile on the phone i can. If i press on the zip file, nothing happens.
If i create instead a zip file on the tablet (packing some photos), i am able to open it without problem, but the one downloaded not.
Both devices are running ICS, the only difference is that the phone is rooted and the tablet is not.
hope someone could give me a solution for my problem
thanks

Where is the ZIP located on the tablet?Maybe you don't have the user rights to read from the file?

Are you able to open other files on that SD-Card, e.g. txt files?

nope. don't know about text files (i don't have access to tab right now), but i can tell you for sure that i'm not able to open mkv files in TC. I have to go in the player's menu and select from there to open the movie. On the other hand, i'm able to open photos, launch apk-s...

Seems like you are suffering from the locked SD-Card problem described in other threads: The external SD card on some tablets is read only for all apps except for the system apps from Google and the device manufacturer. You should try to copy the files to the internal SD-Card, and open them there.

As i mentioned before, the files are located on the internal SD-Card, i don't even have micro SD inserted (you are referring to the Micro Sd as External-SD, right?)
thanks

ps. i can't establish ftp connection with my pc too, meanwhile with my phone i can

Yes, I meant the external SD - I haven't heared of any problems with the internal SD card yet.

Maybe the ZIP was damaged? Try to send it back to the PC and compare it with the original.
