Post by *JoeyHH »

Hi Developers,

I am very happy with the Pop3-Smtp Plugin. Is there something like that for News-Groups .I think the Totalcmdr is perfect for this feature.

also i did not find an answer to view PDF-Files in Lister.

I would appreciate very much ,if somebody could realize it.

It's gonna be very diificult to show a complete thread tree in a TC panel. Do you have an idea on how to represent sub-messages?

each message - directory, in which we have a single message. Then in Directory tree view...

But Tree View is not the must, i think

this works indeed ,when i set in ieview.ini:
AllowActiveX=1

Unfortunately it opens a backgroundtask of Acroreader and then shows it in Lister:-(

This it not ,what i want.
Then i can leave everything ,as it was,its not a "Quickview".

maybe a branchview ,or like Subdirectories,i could switch one panel to 100% ?

AFAIK treeview is not yet supported by the plugin interface but nevertheless the newsreader plugin is an interesting idea...

XNView views pdf files in the quick view pane (wihtout opening Acrobat). You also need to install GhostScript. Works quite well.

To plugin writers: This would be an excellent Lister plugin: Call an installed ghostscript to convert PDF -> bitmap and display it in lister, of course with page changing and so. Maybe the ghostview source could be adapted...

No, PDF description is freely available (and very complicated).
PDF creation programs only cost money (except GhostScript AFAIK).

A PDF viewer plugin would actually be very simple: Pass the PDF file and the page number to GhostScript, get an image of the page in return, display the image. Unfortunately I don't currently have the time to write it myself, but perhaps someone else will...

Christian
Today I've played a little bit with GhostScript ... Do you have an idea how to display the temporary image in lister?
