Also notice that even if the folder date is copied, on NTFS formatted drives, Windows will change the date of the folder if new files are added to, or removed from the folder.
It is only if the folder in the taget side does not already exist, that the folder date is copied. If the folder already exists. the date will not be changed.Indko wrote:While copying an older folder with subfolders I still have in the copy the current date and time.

PROPLEM SOVED.
I tried it again in the wincmd.ini - writing CopyAllTimes=1 and CopyDirTimeStamp=1 and change it simular in the preferences unter copy/deleate.
Now it works perfect. All copied folders and subfolders are keeping the date and time of creation.
First time I made somewhere a mistake.
I have to thank you all very much 1000 times for your answers and the help.

Re: keep original creation and modified times and dates?
Can anyone make this work? I would really like to have the source date/time copied (overwriting) the target.
I have tried in many different way to make it work, but it's like TC just ignores all date/time of directories, when you copy directories.
This is both tested on local drives and network drives. The same thing happens. The target directories are not having their date/time updated from the source.

Did you check the right option to copy directory timestamps?
Configuration - Options - Copy/Delete - Copy date/time of directories
