Feature Request: Range selection

Hi,

I want to use my tablet to organize my pictures, so I have to move a lot of files around. Currently there is no easy solution for this: If I have a folder with 200 files and want to move the first 100 to another folder I have to manually select every single one of them.

My suggestion is to implement something like shift+select on the PC. If I do a long press on an icon an already continous selection will be extend up to the selected file. This would make it a lot easier to organize a lot of files. Currently no other file manager for Android supports this.

Regards

Unfortunately the long press on an icon is already used to start a drag&drop operation. Maybe I could add something to the context menu...

That'd be nice! Or you could walk the extra mile and detect whether there was any movement when a drag operation is finished, so that you can differentiate between d'n'd and a normal long press.

This has been added to beta 4 now!
1. Hold down the finger on an icon until the drag icon appears
2. Lift your finger without moving it from the icon
-> You will get a context menu where you can choose to select arange of files, or remove the selection (not yet translated)
3. Select one of the menu items
-> The first file blinks - tap on the last you want to select to select a range of files. (The last may be above or below the first).
