How to access file system on phone with Windows Phone 8 OS?

Post by *ykhabins »

Hello,

I have a notebook computer running under Windows 8 64-bit OS.
Also, I have a Nokia Lumia 920 cell phone running under Windows Phone 8 OS.They are connected using USB cable. Regular USB port on the notebook side and micro-USB on the Lumia 920 side.

I am trying to access file system on the cell phone storage.
Notebook's Windows Explorer has no problem to do that.

Is it possible to use TC 8.01 on a PC to access and manipulate file system on a cell phone running under Windows Phone 8 OS?

Thank you in advance.

If the Explorer can see it, then you may be able to access it also from TC. Please click on the small triangle to the left of the current path, and click on "Computer". It should appear there.

You can access the filesystem from within Total Commander, but things like sync don't work. Also creating or deleting folders isn't flawless.
So probably some work is to be done to access the Windows Phone 8 file system.
