@rg_software: you might get some feedback if you upload to say gitlab, sourceforge, github, bitbucket or other open source hosting platform or perhaps totalcmd.net - that way people don't have to enter their email address to be able to download something.

Yeah, I will do it soon I hope (just need to get files in order), though I don't think entering one's email address is a huge deal :)

Any chance for x32 version of the plugin (the one without .net)?

@stefan
I think I have clicked everything on this page and all I get are sources.

Ah I see, the "MarkdownView.wlx" file itself is missed from the Build folder:

wlx-markdown-viewer-1.1\Build\hoedown.exe 46.080 12.12.2018 23:56 -a--
wlx-markdown-viewer-1.1\Build\MarkdownView.ini 3.999 12.12.2018 23:56 -a--
wlx-markdown-viewer-1.1\Build\pluginst.inf 167 12.12.2018 23:56 -a--
wlx-markdown-viewer-1.1\Build\smartypants.exe 24.064 12.12.2018 23:56 -a--

pluginst.inf
[plugininstall]
description=Markdown viewer based on HTMLView plugin source and Hoedown library.
type=wlx
file=MarkdownView.wlx
defaultdir=plugins\wlx\MarkdownView

That's right, hope it is sorted out now. I will publish the update on totalcmd.net as soon as I fix a couple of other annoyances.

When run in Windows XP 32-bit, the installer displays warning about missing files. What files - MS VC libs, HTMLview, other? There is no info about any dependencies in readme.md.

Hi,
I really tried to make a self-contained plugin with no external dependencies whatsoever. So if something like that happens, it is not intentional. Please give me any hints that might help. Also, pls update to the latest revision (I made it yesterday) -- it fixes some critical bugs that caused crashes.

I guess you mean TC is displaying this message (since there is no installer for this plugin).
What files - MS VC libs, HTMLview, other?
TC can't possibly know which DLL(s) a plugin needs, so it can't tell you anything more specific.
There is no info about any dependencies in readme.md.
Because there aren't any dependencies to additional external DLLs.

@rg_software:
Using a plugin like FileInfo or PE Viewer, or a program like FileAlyzer, reveals that XP's kernel32.dll misses the function InitializeCriticalSectionEx. You can solve this by either loading this function (or DLL) delayed (or dynamically via LoadLibrary and GetProcAddress), or by using InitializeCriticalSection instead (the non-Ex version). There are other possibilities to solve this as well.

Yes, it was message from TC installing procedure, string 1649: "Error loading plugin file! The plugin probably needs some DLLs missing on your system." Tested with the newest plugin version 2.2.
Dalai wrote: 2018-12-23, 01:04 UTCBecause there aren't any dependencies to additional external DLLs.
I mean any additional files needed. There were 2 exe files in the older, 64-bit only plugin version, now they are removed from the plugin package. They are probably integrated with wlx, but some other files may be still needed…

@rg_software
One more thing to fix. There is an old info in wlx - the file is still seen as HTMLView plugin for Total Commander version 1.2.6.
