FTP settings - import

Post by *Woodie »

When using TC in the mode where each user can have her own setting of TC, the FTP setting is lost. How do you import these settings? - The problem arises from the fact that I have some passwords that I only have here since other documentation has been lost. Any help would be apreciatede!!

All FTP settings are in the
c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\wcx_ftp.ini
file.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

That is correct - as soon as you have any. Though I have set up one item of ftp account on this user without TC creating an ini file on this loacation. Nowt the problem is that even when I copy this file to this location. it will not accept it as the wcx_ftp.ini file. So I believe it is a question of importing the settings.
So still: please help!!

Create an entry in the ftp list, and then check out Help/About. There you can see the location of your ini files. So search for the good wcx_ftp.ini file, and copy it over the new one.

It is not my lucky day. I create a working ftp account. And check under Help/about to find only the wincmd.ini file stated. Where did I fall off the boat?

I beleive I have found the solution: When using the ini-tool from TC and stating a specific directory to store the wcx_ftp.ini file, and checking the help/about is says that it is wincmd.ini that is stored in that directory. I will return upon dusting off the regidtry...

And now it works!! All you have to do is changing the entry in the regidtry for that specific directory to be wcx_ftp.ini instead. Perhaps a bug in the ini-tool?
Anyway now it works - and thanks for your efforts Folks!!
