Speed limit for specific drives during copying

Post by *Offline »

Hello!
It will be good to have ability to set different speed limit for specific drives during (queue or regular) copying.

Seems it is easy to realize, just to add some items in options.

Variant 1: Set speed limit for disk letters (good for fixed drives).
Variant 2: Set speed limit for disk serial number (good for removable drives).

The problem is that there are usually two drives involved, source and target (except when copying within the same drive).

I can't understand the problem.

Now I can manually change speed limit for every copy operation.
But why this can not be done automatized?

We set limit to target write speed, or for source read speed?

So if we set write speed limit for target drive, it will be always written with specific limited speed.

I was searching for an option like that in Total Commander , I see this option is available in tools like Carbonite ,Gs Richcopy 360 and Duplicati , as you can set the transfer speed to what you want !
