Copying a file to itself

Post by *Thany »

When copying a file or directory to itself, I get the obvious error message. But why not name the new file or directory "copy of ..."?

This is because I wanted to have another copy of a directory in the same parent directory and I though I could do that by just copying it there...

Although F5 doesn't work when you have the same directory in the other frame, you can use ctrl+c/ctrl+v to do this within the same frame.

I do this by using [F7] to create the new directory and then switch into it and [Num*] and [F5].

Maybe TC should come up with a dialog to enter an alternate filename as soon as a file is about to be copied to itself...
