Extra window, yes; hack, no !

Post by *Clo »

:) Hello !
…this is a screenshot of a underground tc mod…
• I rather call this a hack ! At least, it looks like.
* Whether it's a fake, please indicate it.
* I don't think that Ch. Chisler'ld appreciate that…
* I advise you to resize that pic, in order to suppress that unthinkable huge header.

• However, I'm not against (a) supplemental window(s) in TC. Like "containers" or "extra «flying-windows»" …

Claude

How do we vote here? Shouldn’t the options be GOOD and BAD instead of YES and NO? Results can be interpreted wrongly here!

The poll question is "Is 4 Window Browsing Good or Bad?"

So, imho, Good should equal Yes and Bad should equal No.
But pig.destroyer explains this,
Yes for Bad
No for Good
Hacker however interprets it like this,
As written in those big red letters - yes for good, no for bad.
So I can only join pdavit in saying,
How do we vote here? Shouldn’t the options be GOOD and BAD instead of YES and NO? Results can be interpreted wrongly here!
So I refrain from participating in this particular poll, because it looks much like a farce to me. The only thing which you need to do in order to revert results like you want them to be is to edit the first post in this thread according to your needs.

P.S.:
And before I forget to say so:
We have got the tab system which allows us to open as many tabs in the source and destination frames as needed, so NO, I am against a fixed 4 window system. Not because it is either good or bad, but because it means a step backwards frm what we have got now.

This poll is a mess. The questions and the following explanation no for good and yes for bad are just good to make people confused and to falsify the result. Please restart the poll!

I think it possible that many users don't understand that you can drag files to any tab, whether it is on the same side or the opposite side of the divider. Very efficient for sorting files between many different directories without having to navigate to each one of them first.

This "four pane view" (from the image link) really appears to be two panes that are each subdivided into a tree panel and a file panel. Since that is very different from simple "four window" browsing, I am withholding my vote until the poll question is less ambiguous.

If the question was, would you use a TC configuration where each or both panes supported an optional folder tree panel, then my answer would be a resounding yes.

:) Hello !
• I agree 100% !
- When I voted, it seems that the meanings for "Yes" and "No" were the opposite than now ! Hence, my vote is false, and the most others too.
- Something like : "Would you wish to get four windows in TC ? (Yes) (No) " should be much better and not ambiguous.
- Then, the users can propose variants and / or explain their choices…

i think its pretty clear...

"is it bad or good?" - no, its not bad or good...please all users remember you can only give 1!! answer, else you would destroy the whole voting system..

..i votet for 4 windows as the others too.

"is it bad or good?" - no, its not bad or good
Well the question above is "Is 4 Window Browsing Good or Bad?"

Is it Good or Bad -> Yes. This means the user beleaves it's good or bad, what is the complete opposite. You will not find out if the user thinks it's good or bad, just one of both. Is it just a simple or or an exclusive or?

Is it Good or Bad -> No. This means the user beleaves it's neither good nor bad, something between these two constrasts.

How comes pig.destroyer and schnuffbuh are always online at the same time :D

I don't think that it is good or bad. If it was available I wouldn't use it. I have set up my "Change Directory" menu so that I can get to any frequently used dir very quickly. Also, I don't have to wait for a complete tree to load since I don't use most of the dirs on my drives every day, just certain ones.
