Mode not autom. displayed after changing setting

Post by *Lefteous »

I added a rule to display a certain view mode when the directory in question is opened.

Actual: I need to go to every tab that matches the rule and change dirs forth and back to update the tab headers.
Expected: Update all tabs when auto-change settings have been edited.

Why do you need such a fallback ?
For me if none of my specific rules matches the <default> view is used.
So customizing the <default> is sufficient.

Good point - maybe I was irritating by the fact that 'default' is not *always* checked...

Anyway that was just an example scenario. The problem is still valid.

Currently view modes are only applied when changing directories.

I found out that the currently opened tab is actually updated. But if there is another tab with the same view mode it's not updated when view mode settings are changed.

This would require re-reading all the tabs, which would be a bad idea especially with open network connections etc.

Why do you have to reread the folder contents?

For the used auto-change view mode filters.

I agree that checking the rules should only perfomed when a dir change is performed.

I still think that a refresh for all tabs makes sense when only a view mode (or multiple view modes) has been modified.

05.07.16 Fixed: Configuration - Options - View mode: Apply the changed view modes to all tabs which use that view mode, so the tab color and icon change immediately (32/64)
Thank you for adding this in beta 4. It works great for me.
