Drag and drop into Explorer moves file in stead of copy

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Drag and drop into Explorer moves file in stead of copy

Post by *OSIRIS7 »

I am not sure wether this has always been that way, but when I drag and drop a file from TC into windows explorer, it moves the file in stead of copying it. Normaly I do not work with w.e., but I am used to copy files by drag and drop.

Kind regards,
Kelly

Problem is that it is target window who decides which operation should be performed. So when you drag to Explorer window, dumb Explorer rules work (if drive letters are the same, default is move, copy otherwise - and symlinks are not resolved).

The simplest work-around is to push Ctrl constantly when dragging.
We are not so S.M.A.R.T. as we imagine...

Okay, if it has allways been this way, you can close this topic.

I never used it this way, so when I did today right after I installed the new version, I thought it might be a bug.

Sorry to bother you. Close topic please.

Kind regards,
Kelly
