Hi, infector.

Could you perhaps be persuaded to illustrate with screenshots? Because like Ovg, too, I fail to reproduce any kind of problem in Total Commander 9.0a RC3 32-bit.

Regards,
Karl

Hm, I can reproduce it with 9.0aRC3 x86 under Win7x64. TC shows selection stats in statusbar on first Num*, but doesn't show it on second and later... Only changing folder and pressing Num* or manual selection helps...

I can reproduce this issue only in TC 9.0a RC3 x86 while Brief View is active, in Full View all works fine. I didn't test RC1 and RC2

Windows 8.1 and TC 9.0rc3 64-bit.
In Brief view mode the bug is present.
In Full mode status bar always correctly shows the number of selected files.
Shift+Grey* behaves the same way, though aternating it with Grey* selection works better.
Ctrl+F5 restores correct display.

It's due to this change:
27.11.16 Fixed: Windows classic theme: Reduce flickering of status bar (footer) by not updating it when the content stays the same, e.g. when clicking on a different file in full mode (32/64)

The problem is that the name display isn't actually stored in the footer - instead, the footer is owner drawn then. In the above contellation, the string stored in the footer doesn't change, so it's not redrawn.
