Change Directory Menu removes an item when press 'R'

Post by *Mi-L@ »

When I add a directory starting with 'R' - e.g. ReqView - to the Change Directory Menu (Ctrl+D), then when using Ctrl+D -> R, Total Commander deletes a line from the menu (and changes the directory to the reqview folder). This way it is possible to "accidentaly" delete all stored entries in the menu.

You currently have two ways of solving problem:
1. Just add an item with &R in its name. When two or more items have same shortcut, Windows doesn't execute item immediately but allows switching between them.
2. Edit your LNG file and remove shortcut from this string. If you're using default language, just create empty LNG file with e.g. text:

Code: Select all

1147="Remove current dir\t& "
(you can specify any rarely used character after &)

Thank you very much! I never noticed that there is the menu item called "Remove current dir" when I invoke the change directory menu on already added dir - I was ever to fast in Ctrl+D -> R pressing :-).

Is it possible to disabl "Remove current dir" hotk

Is it possible to remove or disable "Remove current dir" hotkey 'r' from directory hotlist menu (CTRL+D).

I have items, that are started with 'r' and sometimes I can remove menu item by mistake.

Yes, it is possible. You need to edit the proper entry in the language file.
It is WCMD_ENG.LNG with entry number 1147
1147="&Remove current dir"
to e.g.
1147="Remove current dir &ß"

For WCMD_ENG.LNG have a look at this thread
