Exec CD in cmdline after quickfilter: no dir content shown

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Exec CD in cmdline after quickfilter: no dir content shown

Post by *DrShark »

To reproduce:
1) go to any folder that doen't have files that match the quickfilter (Ctrl+S) of the name totalcmd.exe, even its beginning (default filter settings)
2) press Ctrl+S and enter some word to apply there the filter
3) in TC's command line execute:
cd %commander_exe%
Result: TC will go to totalcmd.exe folder but won't show any subfolders or files there
Update: ... it will show only files matching the filter used berfoe (details).

Now make a button with cd %commander_exe% and repeat above steps using a button in step 3 instead of a command line. Result: as expected, TC goes to a totalcmd.exe folder and, without applying filters used in step 1, makes a focus on totalcmd.exe file.

I can't reproduce that.
I both cases after the cd %commander_exe% TC displays the content
of the exe because the TC exe its a packed file.

It may depend on the installed plugins...

Initial report wasn't exactly correct: TC applies used before filter to the folder of CD command when executed from cmdline.
Examples, reproduced with fresh ini:
1) go to root c:\ drive
2) I have a C:\backup\ folder, so
press b, TC will only show this backup folder.
3) focus with mouse on command line, insert there
cd %commander_exe%
and execute it.
TC will go to own folder but won't show anything there (unless you have items that strat with b letter).
Repeat this steps with w letters (in C:\ usually at least Windows or WinNT is present), after step 3 TC will show only files starting with w letter in own folder.

Yes, I understood that - the filter was removed when a plugin showed the contents of %commander_exe%, though.
