Guess you asked them all if they volunteer and just missed me.

Or is it only another provocation of you?

I feel really honoured to be in this very impressive list of forum users.
First, let me state, that i'm not in the position, nor do i have the time to moderate a list.
Second, I voted for no moderation, i really am afraid of judging other people's statements (even if Christian does a great job maintainig this list, still the result is now a loss of a VERY valuable member, who has far superior knowledge than me). I think Christian is more than enough for a moderator, after all this is his forum, where he gets feedback from his users. So he can consider it whether censorship is threatening his goals or not. I also believe that his very tolerant attitude towards us is really enough to feel comfortable here, we all are capable to accept other's or his correction. After all, i dont think anyone enjoys it for too long to be hated in a forum.
And what i really find encouraging is, that during these "flame wars" ;-) we are still helping each other, and we can read the thank you answers from others.
Again, thank you Christian for TC, and keep up the good work!

Hello to all.

I voted No moderator is needed as well.
Why?
Kindly re-read SanskritFritz's message above, starting with line #3.
I fully agree and could not have put it any better.

Kind regards,
Karl

Hi @ all,

even though I am sometimes bored slightly by these neverending discussions, trolling or non-trolling and provocing, I voted against a moderation of this forum. SanskritFritz already gave a good comment and good reasons (beneath others in the past), so for me there is nothing more to say/add.

Looking forward to a good, intense, positive and helpful future of this forum (it is still great!),

Marc

OK, I think that the vote is more or less over. About 50% of the voters were in favor of moderators, about 50% against. Therefore I will now start a test phase with moderators. If there are more problems than there are now, then I will go back to no moderators.

And the Winners are? TaTa!
- For the English and German Forums: Lefteous and Hacker
- For the French forum: Clo and fabiochelly

I know that Lefteous, Hacker and Clo would be interested. I haven't heared anything from fabiochelly yet. Would you be interested in moderating the french forum? If yes, please write in this thread, or contact me personally.

For now, I have set Lefteous and Hacker as moderators for the English+German forums, and Clo as the moderator for the French forum.

I have also added an otherwise hidden forum for moderator discussions.

It should also be nice Christian to see the "Moderator" status under the username of the above users for new forum members and for old to remind them of their importance on moderation related comments.

Possible---

:) Hi Panos !

- This is usual in many forums, but not mandatory… Nothing against, though.

Hmm, I don't think that PHPBB offers this. I will check for a MODification. You can see the moderator names listed in the forum overview, though.

I don't know much about PHPBB but why does this have to be a PHPBB feature? Why not make the "Moderator" text just a static HTML element?

This can be achieved without modifications:
  1. Enter the "Administration Panel"
  2. Go to User Admin/Ranks
  3. Press the "Add new rank" button
  4. Rank Title: Moderator, Set as Special Rank: Yes, Minimum Posts: leave empty
  5. Press "Submit button"
  6. Go to User Admin/Management
  7. Enter user name. Example: Clo
  8. Press "Look up user "
  9. Scroll down to "Special admin-only fields"
  10. Change Rank title to "Moderator"
  11. Press "Submit" button
  12. Repeat step 6-11 for all Moderators.
