Much to small for me on high resolution screen.
More importand its the same icon for enhanced rights or normal.
So I have to look to the title anyway.

I would conservatively guess that 99% of TC users have no reason to ever be running both the 32bit + 64bit versions of the program side by side for long enough to ever have the need to know at a quick glance which is which from the title bar. Even if that guess is wrong, then there now exists the capability to add such a notation to the end of the title bar to distinguish them anyway (for the 1% of users who do think they have a legitimate reason for running both versions side by side simultaneously).

So that being the case, then why are the 99% of 64 bit users who already know what version of TC they're running forced to have the rather ugly and messy (x64) annotation added unnecessarily to the title bar?

It is importand for all users which run the x86 and x64 versions in parallel.
This was the statement - not whether it is important to single-version users, and how many they might be.

But admitted, now that we can add the x64 it ourself, it could be removed. In that case I would like that TC does not insert " - " before postfixes.

Hi everybody,

I think the new option "TitleExtraText" is a great new feature!!! THANKS!

But is it possible to remove the number of the instance in the Title Bar (if there is more than one instance of TC active)?
There is no need to have this number when you have different Titles using the option "TitleExtraText".

THANKS!
Thomas

But if you share the same ini-file all instances have the same TitleExtraText

Good!

But please consider: If you use different instances of TC (because you want to handle different projects) it is important to have the name of the project (=TitleExtraText) at the beginning. Not the name of the folder.
And please remove the number of the instance at beginning of the TC Title bar.

Thanks!

Don't worry. As far as I understood you'll be able to enter any text there. Displaying the folder name will just be an optional user setting at first.
And please remove the number of the instance at beginning of the TC Title bar.
In wincmd.ini add/change the following:
[Configuration]
ShowInstanceNr=0

On one hand TC is a program that really adresses quite technology-oriented users. Despite this fact displaying such an information so promintenly in the title bar or icon is really uncommon.
At least an option to remove this would be nice but I guess the other way round would be better as not so many users need it and who really wants to see can add the new %ARCHITECTURE% variable to the title string ;-)
BTW: It's the same for the version number (%VERSION%)

Yes:
TitleExtraText= Show extra text in the title bar:
*text in front of the title,
-text same but without instance number (multiple programs running)
$text behind the title

If this post was directed at me then yes, I know that this was the statement, and this statement is simply wrong. I'd assume it's obvious.

Hello Petermad and Hacker. (primarily) :)

I am using more TC's simultaneously, and personally, I think, as much customisation of the titlebar as possible would be a good idea - not just as an option - but as several(!) options - including variables for instance number, icons, x86/x64, and much more.

It is not so common in other programs, but it should be. I also miss it in Waterfox all though I also have lot of tabs open.

About the Monty Python'ic discussion (yes it is / no it isn't) whether a feature is 'important' or not: It was fun while it lasted, but maybe, now it is time for a more constructive dialog between two of the brightest forum contributors about this subject. :)

- Have a nice day.
