CD and folder permission

Post by *cavaliersa »

If you change directory to a path where you do not have access Total Commander does not prompt for elevated permission.

For example, consider the following:

Code: Select all

cd %windir%\Temp
After executing this you are taken to this path (e.g. C:\Windows\Temp) but you cannot see anything in this directory. If you navigate up a directory level and double click to go into this folder then you are prompted with 'Access denied on file' (as I am expecting), after selecting 'As Administrator' you are taken into the folder and can now see the folder contents.

Shouldn't TC ask for elevated permissions when navigating (using CD) to a path to which you do not have access?

I agree, and I can confirm the behaviour described.
