Double quotation of paths in button bar

Post by *HBB »

Firstly I wish happy new year to all friends

For button parameters, is there any way (except putting backslash at the end) to prevent the double quotation which is automatically added to the path names having spaces?

Regards

What is your problem with the double quotation?
Which program automatically adds the double quotation? AFAIK TC doesn't add them.

Just use %O.%E instead of %N

Thank you sqa_wizard for your suggestion.
But I think %O.%E may fail for the file names having no extensions.

I know the followings by trial/error and the discussions in the forum:

1) "%P%S1" causes to be sent paths without quotation
2) %P\ causes to be sent path without quotation but it adds an extra backslash at the end (I didn't like it even if Windows OS doesn't matter it)

I was looking for a regular way if exists.

%P%N is adding quote only when necessary to have valid file into a single parameter. It is the same behavior for %P%S1.
You should not quote around %parameter as it may fail.
I do not know any option to explicitly force TC to not quote :(

Have you tried it - it works for the implementations where I have used it, so far.

To petermad

You are right! it works because Windows OS does not like/want the period at the end of file/dir names.

Thank you
