Keeping button bar sizes for different display resolutions.

Post by *Orochi »

Is it possible to keep different button bar / icon sizes for different resolutions?
I recently bought a 4K monitor and had to increase my button bar size to 48.
When switching between computers with different resolutions, I have to manually change button bar and icon size. Otherwise, the icons are either too big or too small.
In the wincmd.ini, all I see is a general section for the button bar, which keeps the size of the default button bar.

Try removing the bar size from wincmd.ini, then TC should automatically show a larger size on high DPI screens.

Thank you very much. :D
Definitely a decent solution. It would have been great, if one could choose desired bar size for a particular resolution, but for now this works great.
BTW, this only works for the horizontal bar, not for the vertical.

Also, what is DEFAULT.br288 file?

The DEFAULT.br2 file you have renamed recently?

A *.br2 file is the icon cache of a bar to prevent a reload every time a bar is shown.

Fortunately, this is not the case. Otherwise, I would have to start seriously questioning my memory.
I always had DEFAULT.br2 file. After the upgrade to 4k TV, I got DEFAULT.br288, DEFAULT.br512, DEFAULT.br168 and some others that I deleted.

The .br<number> files are caches for these specific DPI settings, so TC doesn't have to re-load all icons for each resolution.
