3D effect lost in the top icon bar(defaultbar)?

Post by *BORG52 »

Hello,
3D effect is lost in the top icon bar(defaultbar)?

Before(TCMD 8.52): every row of icon in top icon bar(defaultbar) had 3D effect.
Now(TCMD 9.12): every row of icons is separated by a thin black line.It looks like lined paper.
It can not be set anywhere.
3D effect was better. It is smal design bug?

It was an unfortunate intentional change to conform with the modern trend for "flat design", and to avoid a clash with Windows 7 theme which incorporates an almost 3D border into the the menu bar element itself, resulting in a double line directly above a button bar. Windows Classic style is considered too old, not used by that many people anymore, and it is acceptable to compromise the appearance of this visual style. Same is happening with other software, such as Foobar 1.4.

Complaint topic.

Modern trend for "flat design" = "modern" stupid trend started by Windows7
Therefore is need a skin support for TCMD to eliminate "modern trends".

Without those flat borders it would may look better.
Is possible to completely remove them?

It definitely didn't make Classic theme fanclub happy, I can tell you that. Unfortunately, there isn't that many of us, or we aren't vocal enough. The first one will be only worse in the future. And even though we could try to complain more, I don't think it would work either. Oh well, it could be even worse, we must be thankful for we have.

And I don't think skins are the best solution for the problem.
