Show overlay icon next to normal icon.
Hi Christian.
Can You consider to have an option to display files's OVERLAY icon not as overlay, but next to normal file icon? Please.
I use TortoiseSVN (sure , there are LOT of another programs using overlays) which modifies file icons with overlay. Good idea, but when you have hi-res screen, icons in TC are really small and in some cases (red basic icon and red overlay or mixed-crazy-color icon and overlay) there is problem to distinguish between overlays.
I tried to use bigger icons (24x24) it appears usable, but it looks strange and you lose screen space.
I think that loss of another 16pixels before or after standard icon is not such problem (sure, customisable) and it can help with readability on hi-res screens.
With regards

I will consider it. But it would probably look strange because these overlay icons usually sit just in a corner of the main icon (e.g. lower left or right).

Yes. Normally it is OK. But try to use TC on 1920x1080

This screnshot is in 1280x700 pixels and look really cropped down (probably from 1920x1080 ), so it is almost impossible to see the overlays - hence to see what your problem is.

Your problems with recognizing TSVN icon overlays can probably be solved (or at least lessened) rather easily by choosing an icon set that is well-suited for small icon sizes, like "BlipClean" or "Straight" for example.
Nope. JPG is direct screenshot 1920x1050 but with high compressionpetermad wrote:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jnFb4-UDwS__zNWxkIzbA1isr00Jvzwb/view

Yes, maybe. But only for SVN.elgonzo wrote:Your problems with recognizing TSVN icon overlays can probably be solved (or at least lessened) rather easily by choosing an icon set that is well-suited for small icon sizes, like "BlipClean" or "Straight" for example.
I found next issue with ACTIVE TAB highliting.
I am not sure if it is caused by hi-res or other factor. I can't see which TAB is selected. I know, it's slightly bigger, but You don't see it on hi-res. But as i remember previously had active TAB different background? (lighter?)
There are maybe more such hi-res issues.
