Quicksearch crashes TC

Post by *nn1k3 »

Am I the only person having trouble with QuickSearch?

Please go to Options | Operation | Quick Search
and then check or uncheck "Beginning".
Does TC then crash?

Code: Select all

o Ctrl+Alt+Letters AltSearch=0	crash
o Alt+Letters AltSearch=1 crash
o Letter only AltSearch=2	OK
o Letters -with search dialog	AltSearch=3	crash
o Disabled AltSearch=4	OK
Exact name match:
☐ Beginning	QuickSearchMatchBeginning=0or1	crash
☐ Ending QuickSearchExactMatch=0or1 crash

Not confirmed
No crash here, whatever options I select.
May be related to the fact that I also have installed QuickSearchExtended

TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.69
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

No problem here. Do you perhaps have QuickSearchExtended installed? Some older versions had troubles with Windows 10 updates.

That was my problem. Thank you Horst and Christian!

This is a critical update so let me provide detail for other newbies:
  • 1. I went to ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=22592 and downloaded QuickSearch eXtended.zip.
    2. I opened the zip file in TC and chose to install it.
    3. I see that it updated files including tcmatch.dll (file date 11 April 2017)
    4. All is well.
