Cannot copy to FTP

Post by *vladino »

Hi,
I'm very sorry but I can't find my answer by forum Search function (Android cannot dopy to FTP).

I have Lenovo Moto G5 Plus. I cannot copy files from my SD card to FTP, while I can copy files from FTP to SD card. I'm getting various error messages when I try to copy to FTP.

This should work. What error message do you get? Do you have TC and the plugin from the play store, or manually installed older versions?

I have downloaded the plugin from the play store.

One of the errors is "Chyba při čtení ze souboru" (CZ), ie. "Error reading file". File path is shown in the message window. It points to my SD card, which is a correct path.

How do you access the SD card?
1. Via file system directory, e.g. /storage/sdcard1
2. Same but with rooted device
3. Via virtual folder, e.g. ///_SDCard
4. Via plugin, e.g. Paragon USB plugin

I ask because each of these methods has its own problems. Android really is a mess in this regard.

Via system directory, /storage/6133-6430 in my case.

The weird thing is that, in most cases, a partial file is uploaded (1st file in the list), then I get the error message. The same error message on the following files in the list, but no data is uploaded.

Thank you very much for your time.

P.S. Android is a mess in many regards. But there's very little choice on the market.

That's very strange indeed. Can you try to access the card via virtual folder instead? To do this, tap on the line "Custom location" with the blue "+" and browse to the SD card. Then add it via the button at the bottom.

Same behavior. I hope I fully understand your instructions:

Yes, that's the correct location, and it should work just fine to upload from it to a plugin. Sorry, no idea what is wrong. Try copying the files to Internal memory before uploading.

Thanks. I had a similar situation. I couldn't copy files from my SD card to FTP. It has been fixed now!
