Bug with folder: Delete > reappears > open > error

Post by *Serge »

I created the folder. Then I removed it. After some time, it reappears again. When I open a folder, an error occurs.

It's not a bug, I think. It's probably well known issue with delayed delete.

In your case - you made some actions with the folder and system couldn't delete it immediately. Maybe the folder was open in some Explorer window or TC tab, or maybe you had opened a program that created temp file in this folder…

I also see this exact problem and it only started with RC2 and it is consistent.

What I find is because of this issue the folder appears to be still there but if I close Total Commander and start it again the folder is truly gone.

Confirmed. I had to go back to 9.12. It seems as if TC 9.20RC2 leaks a file handle. Quiting TC and restarting it makes the directory go away. TakeOwn and icacls don't even see the file.

Confirmed. (RC1 is OK)

It seems to be caused by the following modifications.

20.06.18 Fixed: Prevent thread watching for directory changes (Configuration-Options-Refresh-Auto-refresh when the file system changes) from hanging the main thread (32/64)
