File Compare tool - How to switch Text<=>Hex mode?

Post by *maxmula » 2018-09-04, 09:47 UTC

Hell everybody,
I'm trying to use the Compare by Content function of TCMD 9.21a, in order to check two log files coming from some equipment attached to my laptop: they are saved as plain text (.txt) and appear more or less like this:

Code: Select all

Reboot status register: 0x00400000

Xilinx First Stage Boot Loader
Gpio driver initialized
Devcfg driver initialized
Silicon Version 3.1
Watchdog driver initialized
Boot mode is QSPI

Single Flash Information
FlashID=0x20 0xBA 0x22
MICRON QSPI is in single flash connection
QSPI Init Done
Flash Base Address: 0xFC000000
FlashID=0x20 0xBA 0x22

[...]

Unfortunately, as soon as I open the compare tool, it sets itself to Hex mode.

While this is nice in some cases, this time I need to do a line-by-line check.
Is there any way to switch back to normal text view? I've looked around but there seems to be no option allowing that. Did I miss something?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Max

Uncheck 'Binary' checkbox. :)
TC usually enables it when it sees non-printable characters in files.
