Filename and extension display problem

Post by *eschamp »

I changed something in my configuration and would like to change it back, but I cannot find the magic word.

When you look at TC, you see two windows. Each window has a bunch of
columns: Name, Ext, Date, Size, etc. Normally, you would see colums aligned like this:

Code: Select all

Name Ext Size Date

FINDER EXE 21,920 02/17/01 21:43
I changed it so that the extension is part of the file name and the Ext column is empty. I'd like to go back.

Code: Select all

Name Ext Size Date

FINDER.EXE 21,920 02/17/01 21:43
Also the help file seems to be corrupted. Can I download a new one from some where?

Thanks.

That's easy :

1)
Configuration->Options->Tabstops->

Show File extension : Check Aligned (with Tab) :D

2)
That's strange that the help file is corrupted...

You can extract the original help file from the install program or you can find a tutorial about TC Here

:) Hello! Welcome on board !

- Do you mean the default English Help file ?
- I agree with Franck, it's really odd, I never saw that for years…
- And also, yes, there is a free Tutorial with much more pictures, direct link in my signature below.
• Indeed, it's an external document! It doesn't work with "F1".

 Kind regards,
Claude

Hi, Claude,

It's not the fault of the program or the help file itself. Just something that happened.

Is there no replacement totalcmd.hlp file available?

Thanks.

Not in English

:) Yes there is one, but in French only from my download page. It's the reason for which we recommended you to download the Tutorial; all that is in the *.hlp is in the Tutorial too, with more useful infos, for instance the whole internal commands of <totalcmd.inc>…
- In anyway, a new version 6.5 is coming soon; with an update, you'll get the new *.hlp file ;)

 Kind regards,
Claude
